Nice site. Went on the recommendation of a friend and will definately go again. Shower and toilet block is both brand new and spotless. Small children's play area on site. Short walk in to village where there are 3 pubs. 10 minutes drive to Rutland water. Caravans and tents welcome.

I would agree with all that Doris has said (didn,t find chip shop though).
The site is still very new and the owner came to our group and asked us our opinion on the site asking us what we thought to his idea of opening a rally site in the field next door, we were impressed by this.
The facilities were excellent,the site is clean, there are very many public footpaths around the area and the village is very pleasant.
All in all a really good site for a weekend or a few days, for a rest or a base to visit Rutland and surrounding areas.

What a lovely site. Very clean and tidy. A lovely brick built shower block with HOT showers. Good clean toilets with a plentiful supply of toilet paper. There was even a soap dispenser at every sink. Yes i'm impressed with this site.
There's a warden on site who is very approachable and very helpful. A kids play area where all the kids congregate, i don't think our little one was ever out of there. There is no swings, but it's full of Little Tikes toys and a sand pit. The whole atmosphere of the campsite is calm and relaxed, we had a great time.
There are 3 pubs in the village which are all child friendly and all serve food. There's a little village shop. But you are about a 10-15 minute drive from Rutland water which is great for riding bikes, walking,water sports, or just having a picnic. The town of stamford is about 20 minutes away and offers an abundance of shops and churches. I reccomend the Fish & Chip Shop by the river-yum!! Anyway see for yourself, we'll certainly be going back there
