What a lovely site. The owners must love camping themselves, as the attention to detail was fantastic. We were able to choose our own site and had loads of room for the children to run and play. The Playground and equipment was fantastic (the children loved the football pitch and the go carts!) We could not fault the toilet and shower blocks - they were the cleanest which we have been to. Security was excellent. The site is in a lovely position with easy walks to great pubs - we even had an ice-cream man come visit. Fantastic value for money - definitely would return!

Since our visit last year this site has practically doubled in size! There is now a new shower block (with lovely power showers) and two new tent fields so there is now one for families and one for adults only. There are also two new play areas for children. Everything else is pretty much as it was last year (see last year's review), in short - excellent.

I would highly recommend this site. The site is very flat although the ground is hard, take plenty of tent pegs as you may bend a few trying to get them in. There are two fantastic shower blocks with modern showers, free hairdryers and plenty of mirrors, they are kept spotlessly clean at all times. The staff are also very friendly. Campsite is very secure so don't have to worry about anyone walking in who shouldn't be there. There is a short cut through the back of the camp site that takes you into the village which is approx a 5 min walk. The only thing that is missing is a shop on site, although the reception did sell a few items it would have been handy to have had a lot more choice of essential items. We decided to take a walk to the local shop (which is the local post office) only to find it shut on a Saturday afternoon and there wasn't any sign to tell you what the opening times were. Do visit Rutland Water it is really picturesque, it is also worth doing the cycle track and stop off at the Horse and Jockey in Manton for a lovely lunch. Can't wait to go back.

Moderately large site with little in the way of landscaping. There are two modern blocks with enough basins, showers etc. so that there was no need to queue. Everything was kept very clean and my only niggle was that a wooden slatted platform to stand on while drying in the showers would have been an improvement. The site is on the edge of a village so there are three pubs within walking distance. We visited two for drinks only. Whilst both were OK, I can recommend neither. The area has some very beautiful villages and an outstanding selection of churches. Nearby Oakham is a very pleasant market town. The sole building that remains of the castle houses an unusual collection of ancient horseshoes. We visited on a Saturday when there was a market in town and the place was bustling.

Fabulous site, ground a bit hard (bring a mallet). The staff were extremely helpful. The children (age 4,7) enjoyed both the play areas. Plenty of space. The tree and bush windbreak has been planted so the possible breeze should be less by summer. Try the fresh eggs (with double yolks – if you are lucky)

First impressions, very clean site, friendly owner, I was able to choose where to pitch. Site was very flat and well drained. Secure site, so you will not be afraid to let kids roam. Visited Rutland, Owl centre, lots of decent pubs in area offer good grub, was a bonus. I will use again in future.- thanks!

we stayed this B/holiday weekend, what can I say about this very good site! Friendly staff etc, good food at the Plough in Greetham. Great walks around Rutland water. Its worth a visit to the falconry centre, the people are very passionate about these birds! Top weekend over all!

What a brilliant campsite! We had originally booked to stay at the Wing Hall site but had read reviews about Rutland C&C site and decided we'd give it a go. The site was clearly signposted from the main road making it easy to find. It was nice to camp somewhere that was off the road for a change-no cars could be heard at all. We decided to pitch up in the top field which was completely empty at the time. There is plenty of space on the site and it is obvious that the layout has been carefully planned. The toilet and shower blocks were fantastic-couldn't fault them, definitely the best we've seen. Popped into the Wheatsheaf in the village for a nice warm meal or two during our stay when the weather dropped cold. Apart from the weather and a hedgehog eating our biscuits at 2 in the morning we had a brilliant time. We will definitely go back!

Once again a faultless stay. The site has changed and expanded a lot since we went last year. It now has a new reception and a second toilet and shower block, and lots more electric hook-up pitches. The new older kids play area is an great addition too. As before everywhere was kept immaculate and the staff were all friendly and helpful. This time we were pitched on the far side of the right hand field, and didn't hear the church bells as load as last year, which was much much better! Had a lovely day out at Rutland Water, and the walk to the village and the pubs was nice too. On our final day we saw a few of the jets from the nearby airforce base taking off, which the kids loved. This really is a great site, cant fault it.

We were booked to stay at Greendale Park Farm but although we had put the size of the TT on the booking form we were given a pitch too small and on too big a slope. They were helpful in recommending the Rutland Caravan and Camping Site which is where we stayed for three nights. Nice site, level grass pitches. Toilets and showers clean with lots of hot water. The block we used did not have shower curtains when we arrived but these were being fitted the day we left. Pleased to see that a problem had been noted and sorted. We enjoyed our stay. Only draw back is the church clock which tolls through the night and the planes can be bit noisy during the day. We will go back.
