Site ideally suited for Rutland Water which is beautiful. We hired bikes at the lake £55 for 3.

The site itself was very unsheltered and very windy but well laid out. Toilet blocks clean, showers fantastic with piped music from Radio Heart.

Had to wait for washing up sink so maybe in the peak season this could be a problem as it was a pretty quiet weekend and not a lot of visitors there.

The local village has everything one would need as the campsite shop is not overly stocked, again this may be due to the start of the season!

We did have a couple of hitches at the start of the weekend and we found the wardens could have been more helpful towards us.

All in all a nice weekend was had playing boule, BBQing and falling asleep to the tranquil sound of the church bells chiming each hour.

Our second visit to this site still good clean and spacious,on site shop for lovely local eggs and milk.

A short walk to the small village through the gorgeous dog walk, though we do not have a dog. With a small shop for papers and bread milk etc and three pubs, real ale so my OH says and good food in The Plough also dog friendly.

A garden centre a short walk with tasty coffee and breakfast. Only complaint a little noisy from next door farm / timber yard but did not invade evenings.

Adult area with adult toilet block (always clean and no trouble with showers etc) on site which was nice. Bus stop in village. Good play area for children. Few minutes drive to Rutland Water which is worth a visit.

First ever caravan trip made to Rutland Caravan Club. Nice site, we stayed in the adults only field, which had well maintained pitches.

Toilets were very clean, but three showers weren't enough even in March. Lovely dog walk, with a cut through to the village which had a shop and three pubs.

Wardens were very friendly on arrival. Other site facilities were limited, children's play area. Very easy to access off A1.

Rutland water is a must whilst in the area, head to Upper Hambleton and walk around the peninsula and you'll miss all the crowds.

Stayed on adults only section for 2 nights at a weekend. Site was a bit dull and very windy - they could do with more trees/hedges around as it is regimented rows of vans and not many wind breaks.

Showers excellent - hot and powerful. Only 3 but didn't have to queue. Quite a bit of foot traffic through adult only section as that was the way to dog walk and footpath to village.

A bit further from the water than I was expecting and as weather was not brilliant and we didn't want to pack up and move van, we didn't get down to Rutland Water.

Quiet site but we left on a Monday morning and noticed some noise from next door factory/workshop. Short walk to lovely village with 3 pubs and village shop/post office.

Wheatsheaf - very good and staff very friendly - more restaurant food than pub. Plough Inn - very good food and friendly atmosphere.

This was the second time we've stayed at this site, think it was 2009 and they've certainly made an effort to improve further. The first time we stayed it was our first ever experience of camping therefore had nothing to benchmark this site against. However, we have now stayed at many and this site ranks right up there.

Nice flat, spacious, grassy pitches (very hard 2-3 inches down though). Toilet block is warm, secure (you're given access key), plentiful hot free showers and, really, is Heart FM that bad?. Many complaints about the piped music in the loos but the wife and I thought it nice.

We only stayed the one night this time but the new 'log cabin' reception is very nice with a few of the basics in the shop section and lots of local information. We walked into the very pretty village and ate at the Plough which was very nice.

Second visit but we will return again as still so many other places to see.

Visited this site on the last bank holiday of April the site is large and open, as others have mentioned the wardens are friendly and make you welcome.

The motorvan service point is a good sized blocked paved area with a large gully drain serviced by one tap.The site as an adults only area tent and family area with a good playground for the kids.

We stayed on the adults section and we were glad we did because the hard standings which are gravel seemed better spaced and more sheltered from the wind, the roads are crushed stone and very dusty,

We only used the toilet block on the adults part which were clean but surprisingly only had three wc s and three showers which were not enough.

There is a good dog walk and a pleasant walk to the village and its pubs, oddly though the footpath is accessed via the adults only area so there was a steady stream of folk walking past,

If your looking for somewhere to stay to visit the waters then this is ideal, but it does fall short of the caravan club mark, would we return, no

It was our first visit to the site and found it to be clean and well maintained. You are given keys to the showers and a swipe card to get in and out of the site upon arrival. It is somewhat unclear as to why you need keys to the showers when the site is secure

The shower facilities on site were also clean, with hot water on tap. There are adjustable shower heads, which are good for the smaller or taller individual as you don't normally get this luxury.

The village of Greetham is a 5 min walk as stated and is very pleasant. We had a drink at The Wheatsheaf as we could sit outside in the beer garden. We had a hard standing pitch but were not able to get our 'screw in' pegs into the ground and so could not put up our awning.

However, it was extremely windy so not a bad thing! It is worth noting that the site is quite exposed to the elements due to the lack of trees in the area to break the wind.

We did telephone ahead for directions prior to our visit, however, staff were not able to direct us in. Upon getting to the site, there were a few occasions where it seemed that simple requests/questions were met with a somewhat aggressive response from staff.

If you are taking a dog with you there is a good exercising field, but you have to keep your dog on a lead. We did not utilise the park facilities, but from what we saw it looked well maintained and fine for children up to the age of 10.

Visited this site over the Easter weekend so it was very busy as you would expect and with such good weather it was a good time to visit. It is a very large site for both tents and caravans also a separate adult area there is also a children's play area.

The road linking all areas is chippings so could do with being tarmac because of the dust as cars pass.

The shower block is of a very good size and kept very clean, and with a full site it was never full, how ever there is music playing at all times not to my taste but never mind, small issue.

The village of Greetham is a short walk along a public footpath via the adult field, and is a lovely village with 3 pubs, 2 of which we visited very friendly.

Rutland water is only about a 1/4 hour drive away so the site is in very good location.

One final point they are in the process of planning for ten log cabins and a indoor pool.

So this site is recommended and we shall return.

Big site, great location for Rutland and surrounding area. 10mins in car to Oakham a bountiful little town. Lots of great local produce. 15 to Melton Mowbrey, 10 mins to Rutland water.

On site facilities very good, well marked pitches, friendly staff on hand. Dog walk area and a cutting through a secure gate use your loo card to gain access to bountiful walk to Greetham village with only one shop but 3 good pubs, the Wheathsheaf for superb food. Overall good value great location will be back in summer.

A very well presented site with flat pitches and plenty of room between units.

The shower/WC facilities were immaculate.

There was also an adults area, although we had our 13 year daughter with us, so were not in this area. We were surprised how busy the site was at this time of the year, evidently very popular. On a slight 'down' side, there was little to keep our daughter occupied although we could purchase WIFI from reception (it was quite expensive though) so if we were to revisit we would make sure we took our own.

The location was ideal. Greetham is a pretty village with several public houses. We enjoyed a good meal at one and were not surprised that it was full mainly with other caravanners.

We were only a short drive from Oakham and Rutland Water so there was plenty to see and do.

We would definitely return, and would highly recommend this site.
