The location is perfect - right on the Tissington Trail and footpaths for hiking right from the site.
There are lots of facilities but currently only water, chemical waste, playground, shop and take away food available. We had the pizzas they were lovely.
The pitches are flat, you pay extra for an awning and children. We paid around £54 for 2 nights. BBQs allowed but no campfires. It is a VERY big, busy site, too busy for us.
There were lots of lovely families, but the children's play was spoiled by the odd few who were pushing and swearing. I think it's fair to say you get a mixed clientele. However a warden patrols at night and it is quiet after lights out!

I would definitely recommend this site. We arrived on the early evening on the Friday, it was, as expected very busy and a lot of families with children who were catered for with a decent size play area, swings, slide etc. Also there was a separate 'building' kitted out with numerous games machines.
The toilet and shower blocks we found were very clean and well maintained.
There is a pub on site which did meals upto 9pm.
For walkers/cyclists the Tissington Trail is reached via the incoming road to the site.

If you like nature, fishing, walking or cycling, this is the site for you. It has its own nature reserve at the bottom of drive, for fishing and bird hide, both chargeable.
The site also has access to the Tissington trail, and short walk to Ashbourne.
Site very well laid out, cannot comment on facilities as due to covid, none open, but would definitely visit again.

Great site, everything closed due to Covid but the kids loved being able to ride their bikes around.
Will definitely return when everything’s up and running again.

Liked. Spacious pitches friendliness of staff
Disliked unclean toilets on camping field. Light shade hadn't been cleaned for ages and was disgustingly filled with flies. Long walk to showers and washing up facilities.
Improvements needed. Toilets, showers and washing up facilities needed up near the camping fields.
Improvements to roads on camping fields as full of potholes, not good for cars or children paying on bikes.

Having been told about this site by my sister we decided to give it a go for ourselves and we are so glad we did, it is absolutely brilliant.
This site has everything you could want or need and you don't need to go off site for anything.
There is an excellent play area for children, a huge playing field, a great little bar/cafe with pool tables and sports TV, a great pub that does gorgeous food, a well stocked shop, cash machine and immaculate facilities.
We will definitely be going back and would recommend to anyone thinking about visiting.

We visited here for the bonfire special weekend. This was our first visit. Lovely reception was told where everything was and given information sheet. Pitch was spacious although it was hardstanding it had very small gravel pieces that kept getting in the caravan.
We had a meal in the Bowling Green inn on the first night. It was a 5 min drive away. We decided to go by car because although it was only a 20 min walk the long approach road to the site has very steep hills in places.
The Bowling Green Inn food was excellent and the staff very welcoming. This site has a pub with limited opening hours, a cafe bar the meals here were edible but tasted like frozen chips fish and tinned mushy peas but was expected as you cannot expect them to do anything else in a large busy holiday park.
The one thing I did not like was having to pay 20p for a shower, I no it doesn't sound like a lot but I hate having to shower against the clock. 20p wasn't long enough 40p was too long, also the site is not a cheap site.
The site has a shop outdoor swimming pool that was obvious closed at this time of year and a good playground that is near the bar and pub and a green with tables/benches on it which I expect would be nice in summer.
There are several footpaths from the site. We walked down two steep fields that leads to the Tissington Trail. Here one direction leads to Ashbourne the other to Parsley Hay where it joins High Peak Trail. The bonfire and fireworks were on the Saturday night and where fantastic. Lot's of fireworks. We had an enjoyable weekend. Would we visit again as yet we are undecided.

Had our 2nd visit this year, 1st was in May, both times the weather was absolutely glorious. Sunburnt, but loved it. Bit too hot at times doing nothing, not the parks fault, however, they seemed to cope in Arnolds with what must have been a very steady stream of kids going for slushies, mainly mine.
Again, in a very good Summer in the UK, the site coped well and you wouldn't have said, from pictures, that we had had a long heatwave.
Love this site and have a shorter weekend lined up in October, can't wait, excited already.
