Booked this trip in January for August for initially two of us and two dogs, in June my Son and his partner asked if they could come along as they weren't having a summer holiday.
To me on other sites we go on you pay for your pitch, with this site you pay for people as they charged us extra for the two adults, extra for the car extra for the awning? why? extra for the dogs.
Well looked after site with lots of staff. We were right at the end right next to the toilet block/showers. ( I'd requested a quiet spot on my initial booking)These were cleaned daily.
Off the lead dog walk and a on the lead one too. Large block in the middle with showers toilets, washing up etc. A large shop and cafe open till 10pm I think? They have different food vans on the site nightly, We cooked our own.
Off site there's loads to see, Upton country park is not far and there's a great chip shop in Upton. We went to Wareham, Corfe castle, Durdle's door, Lulworth cove, Poole harbour and Studland.
The New forest is around a 40 minute drive away, we had a great walk in the shade of the trees on a really hot day. The Bakers arms is around a 5 minute drive away good food and drink.
There is a pub closer but the car park was empty and the menu didn't look appetising?
Overall great site but I feel with all the extra charges not great value!
If we return to Dorset we'll probably give it a miss.

Such a friendly and well managed site.
Every thing was so clean and tidy.
Beautiful fresh flowers in the ladies shower black.
A very well stocked shop, open early until late.
We would definitely recommend this camp site to friends and family, we had an amazing time.
Thank you so very much

Very clean toilets /showers. Liked that you could get fresh bread and other food as well and that you could get different cooked food on and evening.
Good bus service from site entrance.
Disliked vehicles running through site from 6. 30am or before we think 7. 00am is early enough.

We like South Lychett, which is why we come back. It is a friendly site, how and why we cannot say, the staff and the campers both. Other similar sites just don't achieve it.
There have been improvements since we last stayed. There are permanently sited, portable, toilets in what I call the camping fields. Very impressive inside. Best of all the ducks are back.
You can visit many places, Swanage, Poole, Bournemouth, Wimborne, Studland, etc.
Recommend the boat trip to Swanage, seeing Cliffs and Old Harry Rocks from the sea amazing.

Had a great night here whilst we attended a local music festival.
The whole place was immaculate with lots of green areas to enjoy.
We didn't use the showers, but the small toilet block close to us was very clean.
A small shop and cafe provided us with great bacon rolls the following morning.
Booking and welcome were both incredibly smooth.

A site of two halves. We arrived having booked 4 nights and were allocated pitch 28 which was lovely and quiet, the ducks stopped by every day, nobody opposite us and a fairly sunny pitch so we decided to extend our stay by another few nights.
However, we couldn't keep the same pitch as we were told someone had already booked it and they couldn't move them as they were staying for 7 nights and had picked that particular pitch. So we moved to pitch 88. The most noisy and sunless pitch on the whole site.
It was opposite the toilet block so could hear hand driers going off well past midnight, traffic noise was much worse, kids running through the pitch, we were under a huge tree which blocked the sun for the whole day as well as depositing cones and leaves constantly on the van.
If we'd known how bad it was going to be we wouldn't have stayed a further two nights, it might have been helpful if staff had warned us about the lack of sun on that pitch.
On a positive, very cheery staff, coffee shop on site, visiting food vendors and area great for cycling.

We stayed for one night. Early ferry from Poole docks.
Very easy drive to dock Arrived on site 17.00 left 8.00 £2.63 for every hour on site I think this is very expensive.
A voucher was issued for a free bottle of wine at the local restaurant we did not use this

Should have stayed 3 nights but came home after 2 as honestly thought it a very an average site with the basics being clean and facilities clean, but I expect that as a minimum.
No view to talk of even in a deluxe pitch which was big, but facing into another MH and nothing to view in or around site.
It looked tired in certain areas and whilst facilities clean, they are the basic minimum for what you are paying.
Local pub food good but pricey but good and you pay for what you get.
Cycle into Poole and beyond really good as this area really caters for cyclists, but the site was a let down overall.

Stayed in one of the glamping pods and despite a power cut the only complaint was that we found the mattress a little soft for our taste.
The facilities were excellent and it was an excellent base to explore the area from.
The local pub is a short walk and does great food, plus the local takeaways will deliver to site if you don't fancy cooking.
We've already booked another stay next year.
