Just arrived home from this years family(less) holiday at South Lytchett Manor. For the first time we didn't have any children in tow (working and off on scout camp). We used a small three man tent and lived as simply as we could for 7 nights. The reception on arrival was excellent, we were greeted to a warm welcome and plenty of information regarding the site and local area. We were then shown to our large pitch by one of the numerous members of staff on a bicycle. Being the school summer holidays we were expecting the place to be over full but it wasn't, most if not all the pitches were occupied but with a well organised layout there was lots of open areas for children to play. After erecting the tent on pitch No 120 we explored the site to find the best toilet and shower facilities we have seen at a camp site in 20 years of camping. I have been in many B&B's and hotels which have been put to shame by the standard of these facilities! There were 3 blocks, our nearest (smallest block) had 2 outdoor plate washing sinks with piping hot water available at all times. There were 2 superb male showers, 2 urinals 2 toilets and 4 sinks. This cleanliness was mirrored in the ladies (additional loo and showers) My wife stated that there was family / baby facilities in other blocks. They were spotlessly clean and most other users mopped the shower area after use as requested. We read some reviews on this site before we arrived expecting some 'noise' from nearby roads, we thing that 'noise' is over the top as it implied loud, we found this not to be the case (one morning we were still asleep in at 9:30 am). We found the site to be peaceful, the children in our field were a credit to their families as not once were they intrusive. We loved the whole holiday on this coast (a change from Wales)the two local pubs (5 minutes walk) are both very good if a little expensive (£25 for two main courses and 1 pint of lager) than we are used to. I recommend this site to all other campers both tent and caravan as it is extremely well run and not overcrowded, we will certainly be going back next year. We had a number of day trips to namely, Portsmouth Dockyard (Mary Rose, HMS Victory and a few more) Wimbourne (Market on Friday)Dorchester and Poole Harbour (Biker meet Tuesday with all classic, Harley Davidsons and Sports Bikes)
Thanks for a great holiday in a lovely part of the South of England

We went to this campsite during May Bank Holiday and had a fantastic 4 nights. The campsite owners were great and very helpful.
We went with a group there were 3 tents and a trailer tent and we had pitches near to the play area. This was great our children (7 all together) all under the age of 6 could play with us watching from the tent with a glass of wine or cup of tea depending on the time of day. The kids loved the play area just suitable for their ages 1-6yrs. They loved playing by the tents and having lots of fun playing football, in the paddling pool and generally just running free! The campsite was quiet at night and we were woken in the morning by the birds.
The facilities were great, hot showers all day every day and very clean heated toilet block. The family bathrooms were great for my little girls with babybath and changing facilities.
I would recommend this campsite to anyone but especially families with young children as I felt very relaxed during the stay and always felt the girls were safe.
The surrounding area is very pretty with lots to do, Swannage, Bournemouth, Monkey world, Studland National Trust Beach via chain ferry a must, Poole harbour. Great Indian takeaway down the road.
We will definitely go back some day when we have finished exploring the rest of sunny Britain!

We were very impressed from the moment we arrived - from the friendly welcome to the fantastic facilities. Everyone involved was totally professional, willing to help in any way, always wanting to know if we were having a good time and that everything was OK. The toilet blocks were the best I've seen and the little touches really made it. There were staff checking the blocks at 10.30 pm to make sure everything was OK. The shop seemed well stocked although we didn't use it much. Having 'pet' Chinese and Indian takeaways who will deliver to the site is a real treat if you feel lazy! We would definitely recommend this site (we have done already to anyone who will listen!) and we will be back next year for a longer stay. I know that nobody can control the weather but, apart from being a bit exposed in the large camping field, we had a great time. There is so much to see and do in the area - Monkey World was brilliant and the Tank Museum kept my husband quiet! Also, Swanage and Corfe Castle were beautiful! The local pub seemed to be doing a good trade too!

We stayed here for a weekend on a UKCS meet. The site has a strange layout with one central road running through the middle, we were in the field at the far end of the site which is quite picturesque surrounded by trees. There is a nice new toilet block with waste and chemical disposal points, a washing up area with 2 sinks, this is just for the end of the site there is a larger block half along the site and another near the entrance. Didn't go in the other blocks but the loos were great, the only thing they could do with is a couple more hooks and / or a seat in the showers and to lose the shower curtain with its need to give you a hug all the time. The changing area in each shower cubical is a good size though and the fact you can set the temperature of the water and don't have to keep pressing a button far outweighs those bits.
There is a large field for games and the kids tell me a good play area. There is a quite well stocked shop and a games room with pool table and TV. There is also a good selection of leaflets for all the stuff you can do in the area. Entry to the site is by keypad and you need to be in by 11 else you will have to park in the car park and walk to your pitch.
The site is easy to find and in a good location for the towns around it.
As everyone has said the staff were great and helped us out when our water pump bust after the shop was closed someone opened the shop to get us a water container and waited outside for us to come and get it.
Will go back to this site again as it is a little Gem and is in a great location and has great facilities.

This is probably the best site we have been on , the staff are great helpful and very genuine, nothing is any trouble and the facilities are exceptional. They have spent a fortune to make it a great site and one we will visit first in Poole every time. Plenty of hookups and water taps, good pitch sizes, great shop. Bus service to Poole every 10mins, good taxi service Awesome toilet/shower blocks , very well presented site I cant stress enough , try it you will not be disappointed and not expensive.

Myself & friends had the best weekend at the manor from minute we arrived the sun was shining the staff was so friendly and helpful as if they knew you. The site was extremly clean. Good size plots, with great atmosphere around the campsite. A very good breakfast van on site if you dont want to cook. Lovely little woodland area to walk around. Nice play area for the children. The shower/toilet block was amazing i have never been to one as nice or as clean as this! They have flowers, & also music so you can sing along while you are in the shower! & theres no push button shower here! It can be such a pain pushing the button all the time. The music is there when you are washing up too. Its a nice little touch what more could you ask for! The location is great 5 min walk from the pub which also serves lovely food. 5-10 min drive (5 miles) from the best beach sandbanks with a carpark next to it, also has crazy golf. I will be going back as soon as i can. I really enjoyed my stay and hope you will as much as i did.

We have just returned from our very first camping trip and we had a wonderful time. We found staff extremely friendly and helpful, the facilities were clean. The shop had everything we forgot to pack at reasonable prices. I would recommend this place and will be returning very soon.

This was our very first camping trip and to be honest we do not want to visit any other site. It was absolutely perfect. We were given a pitch near the childrens play area which was perfect for our 5 yr old to run over to play whilst we watched from the tent. The staff were friendly and the facilities were clean and well equipped. To top it off the weather was beautiful. We will definitely be returning in the not so distant future.

Spent 8 nights at this site 17th. May - Sunday 25th. May.
A lovely clean and quiet site that gradually filled up towards the Bank Holiday Weekend, but all the facilities were kept spotless.
Staff very friendly and always made time to stop and speak to visitors (even as the site became fuller) giving plenty of ideas of places to visit.
Basics on hand at shop, TV in games Room.
B/H Weekend Breakfast Bar open excellent value.

We visited this site during the second Bank Holiday week and is the second time we have stayed in the past 12 months.
The staff are always pleasant, personally see you to your pitch and are happy to stop and have a chat during their rounds.
The kids playground looks good and there is a huge field for ball games / kite flying etc.
The pitches are nice and flat and of a good size, the toilet / shower blocks are superb!
During our recent visit we had a meal in the Rose and Crown pub - a few minutes drive from the site - the food was good and the beer was from the Badger Brewery in Blandford. The nearest pub within walking distance is called St. Peter's Finger (turn right out of the gates) and dogs are welcome.
We like it so much we are booked in again for the first weekend in July, hopefully the weather will improve by then.
