We have just returned from a weeks stay at this wonderful campsite. We arrived to very friendly staff and were shown to our pitch. Upon setting up we discovered our electric cable wasn't long enough we spoke to staff who said we could hire / buy one from the shop, when trying the shop they didn't have any left as the site was very busy. This left us needing to move our trailer over, and then another member of staff appeared and said we hear you have a problem with your lead? well we have found one for you. I was so surprised at how helpful they were. The site staff were so helpful and always said hello or good morning to you. Nothing was too much trouble!
The site toilets were extremely clean and constantly checked, with a mop for when you had a shower and cloths on every sink so you could wipe up after yourself. The play equipment on site is great and very well maintained. The shop is very well equipped with all you should need. The site is in a great location with some lovely pubs in walking distance. Overall I would say this is the nicest cleanest and friendliest site we have ever stayed on thankyou lytchett minster

We stayed at this campsite for a week, we really enjoyed it. These are our comments :
1. The toilet blocks were spotless ; they were modern and very well heated. The showers were very warm and never cold. The hairdryers were very good quality.
2.The pitch size was quite good.
3.The wardens were very friendly ( they even offered to reverse your caravan on to your pitch)
4.The on site shop was small but very well stocked, it had everything you needed to keep you going until you find a supermarket. In the shop you could buy eggs from their free range chickens, you could feed them left over veg, bread etc.
5.The on site dog walk was small but very nice, it was a sheltered woodland walk.On site there was two chocolate labs named 'Lara' and 'Hector' - they were very friendly.
6.The play park was small, but enough to keep the kids entertained for a while. In the tent field there was an area where you could play ball games.
7.There was a craft shop about a two minute walk from camp, they had little shops and a cafe'(breakfast and cream teas are very nice there)
8.There is a large LIDL about 5 minutes away in a car from the site.
9. There was a pub about a ten minute walk from the site which had a play park and a good menu.
10.A short drive from the site there's a water park called 'Splashdown' which was ok (for a family of four for two hours it was about fifty pound)
I would highly recommend this site.

A really great site. We spent two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. On arrival we were met by a friendly face and personally shown to our pitch by a very amiable man who took the time to have a chat with us and point out the best places locally to walk the hound and the other dog friendly facilities nearby.
The pitch itself was very flat and came complete with a very handy picnic table. Toilet block was lovely and clean the entire time. We loved the piped music! Plenty of hot water as well. There is a little bit of road noise but to be honest this didn't bother us at all and is to be expected given that it isn't isolated and in the middle of nowhere.
Had a very nice cooked breakfast one morning from the cafe across the field in the craft centre and a tasty meal one evening in the local pub, the St Peters Finger. Both were dog friendly, the cafe even provided a bowl of water and a couple of sausages.
In summary it was clean and comfortable and if we were in the area again we'd certainly go back.

Yes, a fantastic site. Friendly, well organised and professional team, safe (large outside gates locked at night and coded barrier access at all times), beautifully maintained and laid out, toilets and showers that are extremely clean and tidy with lashings of hot water, free and controllable too - which is a good job as a little too hot for me when on full tilt towards the hot side, but perfect for the wife’s and daughter’s asbestos backsides.
However, the staff here provided that little bit extra that will have me booking again in the future.
Firstly, I was surprised that someone was available to answer the phone in the booking office at 8am. I know sites where you are lucky to get the reception to open up at 9am let alone answer the phone. A small trivial matter you may think but one which in my opinion spells out the professionalism and commitment to the punter provided by the staff.
Secondly, I explained that we would be arriving late and asked if there was anywhere to park up a motor home for the night. The member of staff said that if I telephoned once I was on my way she would make sure someone was there to greet us upon arrival. Sure enough upon arrival after 11.30pm (later than expected) a member of staff was there to open up the gates and escort us to our pitch.
A good pitch too as were the majority as far as I could see –, with a good level hard standing, water tap 2 foot away, TV connection (no signal obtainable without one) and a reliable electrical hook up, capable of running a water heater, TV, and a kettle all at once and believe me if the last two are working then my wife and daughter are happy and to me that makes for a peaceful and relaxing break – which is exactly what you will get here.
A couple of tips.
If travelling by bus. Don’t buy a return fare for the x53 bus this cost us £11.50 for the 3 of us to Poole, whereas for less money the next day we purchased an all day anywhere in Dorset / Wilts pass on the number 40 bus which we used to visit both Poole and Bournemouth. Plus, be aware not all passes can be used on buses operated by different bus companies which as we found out the x53 and 40 are. The buses are not frequent by any means (hourly - may be winter timetable?) but we noticed that the number 8 runs to Upton (Library) which is only a 10 min walk away from the site and this saved us a hour’s wait at Poole bus station.
The AA route finder and Tom-tom maps will most likely take you to the site via Randalls Hill (off the A350) which I found out is a very winding single track B road with very few passing places – in my opinion a no no for Caravan’s or Motor homes so stop on the A350 and go around the islands further on down the road or better still go via the A35.
Take a trip to Poole Quay and look at the Sunseeker cruisers even if you think like I did you have no interest in boats. Take a pound because you’ll need it for your lottery ticket because I promise like a Ferrari you’ll want one and it’s the first thing you’ll want to buy with your winnings!

Just stopped off for 3 days, lovely well kept site, toilets and showers very clean, the managers Dane & Chris were very helpful with places to go and visit and we weren't disappointed with their suggestions. Bus stop was just outside the gates but we found that if we went across the bridge the bus fares became half price. Great pub in walking distance just down the road, good pint and food was reasonably priced. Would recommend and would return.

First impressions, driving through the beautiful manor gates was that I would not feel comfortable or relaxed in such glamorous surroundings, but these feelings were immediately dispelled when we entered the reception and were warmly welcomed. We had gone for a look-see before any booking, and the owners allowed us to check out the site, which is immaculate, everywhere you care to look. This is where we did book for a week long stay and I cannot think of a single negative for the site.
Very friendly staff, so helpful too, nothing was too much. Great little shop too selling local produce, dreamy nearby walking with glorious views from Beacon Hill, but if you are just happy to stay on the site there is a vast area for dog walking, there are fabulous mature trees in the parkland, a tea shop and crafts centre and at least two marvellous pubs close by. Really enjoyed every minute of our stay and will certainly return.

Visited this site just before Christmas and to say we were impressed would be an understatement.
The staff on arrival wrer very friendly and helpful (even though we dragged them away from the work they were doing in an adjacent field).
Good shop, excellant toilet/shower block (warm and clean), good sized hard standing pitch, with T.V.Aerial hook up. And a bus stop right outside site gates.
There is a nice little cafe just across the field 5 minutes, good pub 10 minutes along a well lit road, (make sure you ask for voucher for free bottle of wine when you book in at site reception)
As you can see from our comments we really liked this site and will definitely be returning.

This is a great site. Having just picked up our first motorhome we decided to find a site for a few days.
We arrived at about 6:30pm warden was very helpful as were the owners especially as we are complete newbies.
We didn't use the toilet block so cannot comment as we opted to use our on board facilities, other motorhomers we got talking to said the facilities were very good. The site was clean and well presented with small but good on site shop.
EHU was excellent as was TV connection. Having 2 dogs the site catered well for them with a large dog walking field and dog walk through the woods and around the lake.
They seemed to position units with children around the central block further in the site and those without near the entrance, all were well catered for and well accommodated.
About 1 mile away there is group of shops with Spar, off licence and Fish and Chip Shop. In addition there is a pub within 10 minute walk.
We will definitely be returning soon and probably make it a regular destination

A cracking campsite. The owners are friendly and helpful. (even though he supports Man U).
Its clean and well looked after. The pitch we had was well spaced and the fellow campers around us were really friendly. In fact the chap and his wife next to us helped me pitch my tent. (thanks)
The shop was reasonably priced and had all the essentials. Poole has a large shopping centre with a few nice pubs scattered about the town.
The toilets are well looked after with piped music and didn't really have to wait.
As all the other reviews said. The place is a great campsite.
We will be making a return visit.

I agree that check in was swift and friendly, that the toilet facilities were clean, that the staff were friendly and helpful, that it was nice to have a TV signal booster (much-needed). The Courtyard restaurant was handy and good as was the nearby St Peter's pub. There was a really excellent fish and chip shop in Upton - less than 5 mins in car. Supermarkets all (ASDA, Sainsbury's and Tesco)easy to find plus plenty of convenience stores. The on-site shop, open from 8 till 10.00 each day was very handy and well stocked and priced.
But having said all that - I found it all a bit soulless and cramped. It was basically a straight line of caravans, one on top of another, with tents in adjacent fields. There was no attempt at making your space feel a bit private. Whilst I agree that the addition of little hedges would result in a decrease in the number of vans that could be piled onto the sire, it would make it much more pleasant.
The site was very quiet at night, despite being near a main road. Sadly we were parked next to some early risers who were inconsiderate enough to bang car doors and chat at normal volume from about 6.30. And these were older people, from whom you might expect a little more consideration. They would probably have been the 1st to complain about noise at night!
I would go there again but I'm not sure I would recommend it to friends. It's good - but not that good. And a shade over-priced in my opinion.
Oh - and access is very tight. While we were there one caravanner grazed his van on the way in. It needs care - and is nothing to put you off going!
