We have just returned from a 5 night stay here. When we booked we asked to be located away from the children's play area. It was suggested that we have a super pitch with EHU (to accommodate our Outwell Ohio XL) on Manor Field. However, what wasn't mentioned to us when booking was that this field runs parallel with the outdoor sports facilities of Lytchett Minster School! Therefore, there was a fair amount of noise in the morning for a while on a couple of occasions and also on 2 evenings for a couple of hours until almost 9pm. Whilst I do realise this is a family site and not adult only, I do feel it would have been prudent to mention the suggested pitch would be near to the school's sports facilities, especially as we had specifically asked to be located away from the campsite's children's play area. I have to add that we mentioned this on our comments card and have already had a fair response within 2 hours of leaving the site.
The pitch itself (no 134), was level, huge and in one corner, which was ideal, and 2 minutes walk from Manor Field's own facilities. This shower block only has 2 showers which initially doesn't appear enough for the size of the field. However, I only had to wait once, just for a couple of minutes. If you choose, you can walk a couple of minutes in the opposite direction to the next block of facilities which has 5 or 6 showers. The wash/toilet facilities were very clean. There is also a decent hairdryer - none of the useless dryers which turn your hairstyle into a birds nest and takes about an hour to do so!
All the staff we came into contact with were extremely polite and helpful.
The shop is well stocked on any essentials you may need.
I can't comment on any other aspect of the site as we did not make use of anything else.
There are pubs a plenty nearby and the coast is only a short drive away. Sandbanks has to be the best beach we've set foot on outside the Caribbean. Soft, deep, golden sand - wonderful! The facilities here are good - toilets, a nice upmarket cafe, takeaway snacks, deckchairs and windbreaks for hire too. Lulworth Cove is a lovely little bay, but you do have to park a little way away. So be aware if you have limited mobility. There are loos, tea rooms and a cafe here. Oh and the beach is a killer to walk on in open toe shoes, because of all the pebbles.
The campsite is in a good location and despite the initial lack of volunteering, in our opinion, some useful info, we would return here.

We arrived at this site, and had one of the warmest welcomes we have ever had. The shop is very well stocked, and bus timetables were offered to help us organise our days out on the buses. The buses stop right outside the gate, and we found the service to be very reliable. The pitches are a very good size, and the whole site is kept very clean and tidy. The showers, toilets, and wash up areas were always spotless. We hope to return to this site again, and we're sure we will get the same warm welcome.

What a lovely site! Read good reviews on here first and decided to give it a try and is now on our list for a return visit sometime soon.
We stayed for October half term week with children aged 8 and 5, site was fully booked and we had mixed weather with some heavy rain during our week long stay,
We pitched near the play area as requested – which is ok for the size of the site and well maintained. The site is peaceful, well landscaped and showers were always clean and hot, although you may have to queue a little while at peak times. Despite the bad weather, the toilet block was always kept very clean underfoot and mop and buckets provided, in addition to regular cleaning.
The TV reception is poor and if you don’t have a long lead you will need to buy one from reception to connect to the turrets. The awning area is very well compacted shingle so make sure you have plenty of good rock pegs available. There is a large field for ball games and well surfaced quiet road for the children to cycle around the site. The on-site shop is very basic but large supermarkets and nearby towns within a short drive so no problem there. Daily newspapers can be ordered in advance, with a slip provided on arrival. The small games room on site is a bonus for evenings or rainy days.
Staff were very friendly throughout our stay and provided tips for local attractions.
There are lots of things to do in the area with good beaches and indoor attractions and cinemas nearby if raining. We used the leisure centre in Poole for a swim which is modern with good children's pool, diving boards etc and not overpriced. Hamworthy park was also nice for a visit with the children.
Overall, if you want a clean and tidy site with plenty of room for the children to play but no noise and clubhouse then this is an ideal site.

Stayed at the site for four nights, staff very friendly and helpful upon arrival. Pitch was spacious and level. The shower/toilets were immaculate at all times, with the free hairdryers and music added extras. Did not use the shop or laundry facilities.
Our 2 year old son helped staff feed the chickens much to his delight and the play park was ideal for him but don't feel it would adequately entertain older children.
My only real complaint is the shortage of grey waste points! To pull a full container of waste water across gravel chippings and up hill is no mean feat and feel anyone slightly elderly/infirm would not be able to achieve this.
A few other points of note (not complaints as such) were the noise of the road immediately outside the site and the dual carriageway beyond (maybe that was just us being picky as we live in a very quiet rural location), there is a craft workshop nearby who hire out their hall for do's and as we discovered they can be very noisy and go on late into the night. These are not negatives about the site but worth bearing in mind if you want a quiet retreat!.
One last point, the information room is fantastic, the best I have seen, it contains everything you need to know about everything - Well Done.

A fantastic site in a great location. We received a warm welcome and given lots of information about the camp and the surrounding area. They have a deal with the local pub that entails a free bottle of wine! The shop is great with local produce, I even bough warm fresh laid eggs from their hens. The facilities are excellent and spotlessly clean. We followed a brilliant cycle route right into Poole and a must is the Brownsea Island Boat Trip. The site is near 2 pubs and shops are about a mile away. A lovely place to stay!

Overall this site is fantastic, we found all the facilities on the site were immaculate. The toilet and shower block was exceptional, lovely hot showers, mirrors, hairdryers, sinks etc were all very very clean, toilet blocks were lovely and warm and even played music.
Our pitch was very spacious and sheltered and ideally located within the site.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and we will definitely be returning to the site again. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Poole to stay here.

We have just returned from a fabulous four days at South Lytchett Manor. Upon arrival, staff were very friendly and courteous guiding us to our pitch.
As for the site, as previous reviews have stated, Toilet/Shower blocks are immaculate and regularly inspected. Although there was plenty of hot water and large spacious shower cubicles, the shower heads could do with being upgraded to a larger size (but this is us just being picky)
The site is situated in an excellent location with easy access to main roads to all the 'touristy' places the area has to offer. The on site Chickens were a lovely touch with freshly laid eggs available to purchase. It made my girlfriend's day being able to feed them!
We did have a few negatives albeit minor ones. We deliberately went off peak to avaoid the school holidays but when we were shown to our pitch we found the electric hook up pitches also contained the kids play area. The noise of children was quite annoying on an evening and early morning. There is a huge empty field opposite reception which would seem a far more suitable place to locate the play area which could also be monitored by all the reception staff. This would also allow for at least 3 more tent pitches.
Overall a great Campsite and very much looking forward to staying there again soon. Keep up the good work!
N.B(If the owners of the campsite read this review, one thing that would be useful is the addition of a plug socket in the ladies toilets for hair straighteners etc)

Fantastic site with excellent facilities. Great showers, with it seems like never ending hot water supply. Site kept immaculate by very caring staff. So caring in fact, when asking what time we needed to be off site, they did state the time, but followed it with please take your time and load your caravan safely, it does not matter if you leave a bit later. Nice touch I thought. Used shop for fresh bread and a few other items and was reasonably priced. Would recommend booking for peak times well in advance as every pitch taken on week we were there. Excellent site, will definitely return.

I stayed on this site with my wife & children for a week in the run up to the B/H. The layout of the pitches was too regimented for our liking, it also meant that cars drove in front & behind your pitch. It left little room for ball games by your tent.
The washing facilities were of a good quality & clean, there were queues in the lady's for showers & toilets. The laundry was overpriced. The system for freezer packs was strange, two freezers, locked & unlocked at alternating times, I could see the logic to this, but it was inconvenient, a requested donation to charity was the only charge.
The shop was reasonable, stocking essentials. The games room & playground was enjoyed by my children. We didn't visit the village pubs. We enjoyed Swanage Railway, Corfe Castle, Monkey World & the beaches at Swanage (no surf) & Bournemouth (surf). You had to set off earlier than we do to get parked at Sandbanks.

Spent 5 nights at this site and had a splendid time. The site is clean, well managed with knowledgeable, friendly & courteous staff. The shower facilities were excellent - immaculately clean, lots of warm water for as long as you like with piped music & fresh flowers - what more could you ask for
The shop was well stocked and not overpriced. There is a craft centre adjacent to the site with a cafe and gift shop. My teenage son enjoyed the games room although I suspect he was actually making best use of the wifi on his laptop when he was in there!
We didn't manage to get the pub but I hear if was very good. The dog walk with the secret pond was a nice surprise. Have fallen in love with Poole and the surrounding area - so much to do - Sandbanks,Durdle Door, New Forest, Bournemouth, Monkey World - we didn't manage it all so will we will be back.
