Our second visit to this tremendous site we loved it again.
The customer service is brilliant, all of the staff cant do enough to help but also leave you alone to enjoy the holiday.
Its very well laid out, although we chose a pitch which had a lot of shade, great when it was hot, but we ended up moving further and further away from the caravan to catch the last few rays.
The toilets are cleaned 3 times a day and you have mops to clean out the cubicles after youve finished. There are two proper family toilets with baby baths and wetrooms if you have little ones who don't like/want to bath.
Only negative is there isnt much to do for little ones.
Would we stay again? Yes absolutely and we base all other sites on this one as the standard

What a wonderful campsite. Large pitch. Very clean toilet blocks, with piped music while you wash. (Infact it sounded as though they were using our ipod !.Or maybe its reflecting the age of the owners and ourselves). We were there for 5 days and on our arrival we were shown to our pitch given a precise of the campsite facilities and the fire regulations. The children did visit the little park, though our oldest aged 7 years felt there were not enough features! no pleasing some boys.
We had one day of rain but still managed to venture out to Sandbanks. As we were there for a few days ( we are new to camping so have only done weekend stops so far ) we managed to get a look at other tents. And keen to go even bigger if the bug lasts which I'm sure it will. We are now in the process of getting electric hook up.Toast in the morning would be nice.
The shop was well stocked (excellent baps )and you could order a daily paper if you so wished.
The surrounding area is beautiful so will be back to explore more. Our days on this stay were taken up with beach trips(sand banks.Excellent cafe and some amazing houses.Millionaires row) and a day sailing.
Went to the local pub for a pint, it was doing a good trade from the campsite because of the free wine voucher with the meal.

On arrival at the site (on a recovery vehicle) we were met by the friendliest people. They sorted out the pitching of our caravan-our car being mechanically unwell and even sorted a coffee or two for our recovery driver.
The very helpful reception team even sorted out a local firm to repair our car(in record time as well). The site is clean, tidy and well kept. Our niece enjoyed the parks play area.
The facilities were always clean and well presented. We will definitely be going back for another holiday after they saved the spirit of this one.

This is our 2nd visit & 2nd review of Lytchett Manor.
The owners have taken notice of previous posts & have kept the tent pitches in the field opposite the Shop well away from the road. The top of the field is now used for ball games & the introduction of the chickens there is a nice touch!
I must first stress that the site is a quality one.
This is due to us having booked the last remaining EHU pitch for the week we wanted. This was next to the Play Area! We wanted to come here, but should have known better not to have taken one next to the Play Area.
The problem is that the pitches back directly onto the Play Area. There are signs stating that children should be supervised at all times. This is largely ignored buy most parents. It is the unsupervised kids that seem to have the accidents. Of which there were many (one potentially serious!). There is no time restriction for the Play Area which meant 7.30am to 10pm+ (even in the dark!). Supervised kids play well but not from the unsupervised 'Screamers' & 'Shouters'.
When you have a teenager that wants to have a 'lie-in' but is woken at 7.30am, you can imagine the result!
Around the site in the evenings, people could enjoy a quiet drink outside their tent / caravan. However, we could at times barely speak / hear over the noise in the Play Area. It did spoil our holiday unfortunately!
The Play Area would be better relocated in the field opposite the Shop / Reception whereby it could be monitored.
I would also say that after talking to other visitors to the site that noise from other pitches around the whole site was often a problem. TV's & Radios or early morning games.
I think this is due to the 'Peak Time' Holiday period & is not indicative of the site during the rest of the year!
I have marked down my ratings for this site based on our own experience this time!
I am sure the owners will read this & are likely to rectify the problems as they always appear to be genuine caring people who work hard to give the area a wonderful site that remains ever popular!
Still a highly recommended site!

Lovely campsite, very helpful and welcoming staff. Spotlessly clean toilets and showers, plenty of hot water. Small shop on site held the basics. Large pitch didn't feel cramped despite campsite being full.
Locally small tesco express.
Things to do in the area; tank museum, monkey world, Poole harbour all lots of fun for all ages.
Kids enjoyed running around and letting off steam in the large green area in the middle of the field and play areas.
Local pub (for which we were given a voucher from the campsite) tasty food and reasonable priced.

Just spent 8 nights here, from the moment we arrived, without booking, the staff were kind, courteous and professional. Even as we left they still had time for us although it was very busy for them (Saturday morning). The friendliness of the staff must have been contagious because the site had a really good atmosphere.
We were shown to our pitch and given an explanation of the necessities, location of toilets etc.
Pitches – we had a standard pitch and could have had electric hook-up, but we didn’t need to use it. The pitch itself was level and large enough for your car to be parked alongside your tent and with enough space for a table, chairs, cooker/barbecue and windbreak. The site was full, but it didn’t feel it and there was plenty of space for all.
Toilets/showers – showers are free and hot, the most we waited to shower was 5 minutes on one day otherwise not at all. Toilet/shower blocks were spotless although we didn’t see anyone clean them, they obviously have the timing right! There is a mop/bucket provided for cleaning up after your shower if needed. The piped music 24 hours a day (not loud!) and fresh flowers in there are a nice touch.
Dishwashing area – these are outside under cover, couple of sinks with bowls and drainer provided. Lots of free hot water.
Play area – the play area looked good, but we are too old for all that now!
Shop/information centre – small, well stocked and staffed shop, with reasonably priced goods and good opening times. We ordered our paper for each day. Information centre had a good selection of brochures of local days out, walks, bike rides etc. Bike hire available at the shop. Microwave for free use. Local bus stops outside the gates.
Games room – small games room with TV, pool table. The freezer for re-freezing your ice blocks is in here too (free).
Chickens – who provide the shop with fresh free-range eggs daily. The children seemed to enjoy feeding them.
Dog friendly – dog walk on site.
Pub – St Peters Finger is a 10 minute walk from the main gate, good food and drinks.
Location – Approx 3 miles from Poole and is in a great location for trips to Weymouth, Durdle Door, Salisbury, Monkey World, New Forest and lots of other places which we will be visiting next year when we re-book.
This is a lovely friendly site and we would definitely recommend it.

This is a fantastic site. I don't have much to add to that which people have written already; but if it sounds too good to be true. It's not ! We travelled a long way to get there so it had to be good; and we were not disappointed.
In summary, the pitch was flat and the surface good; water and tv connection adjacent, the info hut at the gate means that you will not have to ask questions but if you do, the staff are first rate. Toilets are impeccably clean and stay that way all day. This is a tall order for a dedicated touring park but is achieved daily here. The shop is well stocked and reasonable.
We loved the area and checked out other sites; just to see if we were missing anything. Although others had pools none we visited could come close to the friendliness and informality of the site. This is no corporate outfit.
This is a site run by people who know how to look after guests. Top marks; we'll be back and make the 1,000 mile round trip.

Excellent site. Arrived on speck
Staff very helpful, shown to pitch.
Facilities were kept to a very high statndard, although the site was not full at this time, this may be different in high season.
Good security, with a card number for gate.
The location was very pleasant only slight noise from main road, no trouble sleeping!
Would definitely use again. Local pub was friendly and food excellent.

We have just returned from a week at St Lytchett's Manor. We were very pleased to be sited on the Manor Field, their new 'superpitch' field at the far end of the campsite. If you have a caravan and want full serviced hook up I really would recommend this field. The pitches are huge with a bin and picnic table and it's quieter and the toilet block is quieter too.
Many of the other caravans were pitched either side of the narrow road running from one end of the site to the other. I spoke to a fellow caravaner in the laundry room who was on a roadside pitch and she commented that it seemed very busy with cars constantly driving past her caravan. If you have small children this is also something to consider, we encountered many young children running across the road infront of our car as we drove through the site to our field.
There is a children's play area located near to the entrance but this was quite a walk from where we were pitched and we didn't feel comfortable with letting our children (aged 7 and 9)wander up there alone. If you have young children you may want to think about requesting a pitch in the caravanning field next to the field the playground is located in. I'm not sure how serviced these pitches are though but it looked a nice area.
The shower facilities are excellent. The site was very busy so I expected them to be well used but I was very impressed that they never ran out of toilet roll and the piped music and flowers were a nice touch. Quite funny at 7.30am in the morning when 6 unrelated women are singing along to the Carpenters together in the loo block!
I only have one criticism of the site from my own experience and that is that I couldn't believe it when I was told a wash and a dry in the laundry was to cost me £5.50! That gave me 20 mins drying time and I ended up bringing back a lot of very damp washing to the caravan. My husband complained to have another drying token very rudely slammed infront of him with a comment that 'they are commercial dryers you know!'. I resorted to handwashing everything else and drying on our airer.
The local pub (St Peter's Finger) is a ten minute walk away and well worth a visit. Definitely book a table during peak season or you'll be disappointed.
I would recommend this site and on the whole we had a fantastic time.

We spent a week at South Lythcett Manor and had a great time. When we arrived we were greeted by extremely helpful & friendly staff. We were taken to our pitch & told where we could find everything we needed. The facilities were excellent. Toilets & showers were cleaned daily & kept spotless. We were pitched close to the children's playground which was ideal as we could keep an eye on them without leaving our tent. The site was laid out very well. It was a great base for beaches & Poole shops & quay. The information hut was a great idea with leaflets for attractions around Dorset, local bus timetable, a menu for the local pub and takeaway menus. The latter you could order by phone & have delivered to reception for you to collect. Daily papers could also be ordered for you to collect from reception. So much we didn't get around to do so will be booking up again for next year. Would definitely recommend this site. Only issue we had was as we booked this site only a few weeks before we arrived we had the last super pitch available that was under the trees & the ground was extremely hard & bent a lot of the tent pegs. Also got a bit noisy as so close to the toilet/shower block. Booking early would have avoided this.
