Only 2nd time done this kind of thing but it was either a visit from my mother or camping with the kids. No brainer really. Husband away in India thought I would last one night.
Arrived with our ebay tent (Khyam £25!) and we loved the site. Nice bloke, could smile more. Rather formal but ever so kind. However, that might just be me being a northerner!
Anyroad, the place is small and personal with a family friendly feel.
After visiting local beauty spots and wearing the children out I washed up our supper dishes whilst singing along to Dean Martin. Fab!
With free range kids showered and in bed, I listened to the peace and quiet of 'evensong' with a glass of wine.

Myself and husband have just returned from a 5 night break at South Lytchett Manor and we loved every single minute. I can honestly say I have never met more hospitable staff. They really do go the extra mile without asking for anything in return. On many occasions I heard other campers forgetting essential items, EHU leads not working, forgetting binoculars, broken bikes. The staff in return would lend cables, lend a bike for the day without charge, lend binoculars. Totally brilliant.
The site itself was busy although never seemed it. The pitches are well spaced and you are taken to them by a member of staff. There is a children's play area which seemed well equipped. The toilet blocks are spotless. Never once queued, even B/H weekend. Hot showers, free hairdryers, sinks in private cubicles, family bathrooms, music playing. Laundry on site. Excellent shop, selling essential items and few extras, which surprisingly was not as expensive as most. Bottle of decent red wine £5.00. Washing up areas are clean and tidy. A freezer in the games room where you can freeze your ice packs free of charge at your own risk. There is a catering van on site for use during busy times, selling breakfast.
The nearest pub, St Peter's Finger, is about a 10 minute walk and is superb. Dog friendly. Great food. Wonderful atmosphere. Ask at reception as we managed to get vouchers for both nights we ate there which got us a free bottle of wine both nights.
Fantastic holiday, would recommend and will be going back!

This was a lovely, well kept park. Friendly welcome. Excellent toilet/shower facilities which are always kept clean. Was disappointed that the dog walking area was not as described. We entered what we thought was going to be a nice forest walk with our dog but it was all over in 5 minutes. There is nowhere to take your dog for a nice long walk on site but there is a local country park within 10 minute drive. Small playground for the kids, with an easter treasure hunt put on by the site staff. Nice little shop on site which sells a good range of products.

We chose this caravan and camping park for our two week holiday in August. On arrival the staff/wardens were very welcoming and were on hand to answer any questions that we had. We were escorted to our pitch by one of the Wardens, which was nice instead of just being given a map to find our own pitch! Our pitch was a good size with plent of room for our caravan, awning and car, also giving us enough room to sit out. The toilet facilities were excellent.
The shower blocks had hot running water and were very clean. There was also fresh flowers and music which made using public facilities much more pleasant! On site the facilities included a well stocked shop containing many of the things that you usually forget! There was a fantastic playground facility for children along with a games room. Also on site there was a butty box which came very much in use at the weekend.
The atmosphere within the park was very friendly, and the wardens were constasntly checking that all the parks facilities were in order at all times.
I would recommend this site to any of my family/friends. We have even booked to return this year as we felt that this site was excellent!
Thank you to all the staff at South Lytchett Manor Caravan park for making our stay enjoyable! You are all a credit to the site.

Hi there just joined this website and should definitely recommend Lytchett Manor Caravan and Camping Park.
On arrival on a magnificent day we were welcomed by a guy named Dave and his wife Jo, not sure but think they were the owners.
They were extremely helpful and directed us to our pitch. Having a young baby and two other children and after a long drive appreciated the efficiency in checking us in and showing us the facilities. The children were straight off to play in the sand pit and on the lovely little park close to the onsight shop.
The location of site is superb, surrounded by woodland walks and with a fantastic local pub in a picturesque village only a five min walk away.(very family friendly) There is also a lovely cluster of craft and gift shops with small evening entertainment for children nearby.
After visiting many caravan sites over the years Lytchett Manor has some of the best showering facilities for families we have come across. Very clean with baby baths, change mats, pottys and ample room to move.
We had a lovely holiday and thank the staff members for making our holiday truly special.

Against all the reviews, this site was not really our cup of tea.
Toilet facilities were great, nice large clean showers, plentiful supply of water etc. A bit of a queue during peak periods, but I just altered my morning rituals a bit & never really suffered afterwards.
The comments on the closing of the toilets at lunch time is accurate. Why they are closed during the periods of new arrivals is beyond me (I'd already been crossing my legs the the last hour!).
Great location though for surrounding areas, Bournmouth, Corfe castle, Swanage Brownsea Island etc.
However, having booked with electric hookup we were placed in between the caravans, a few of which seemed to be seasonally pitched and vacated. The caravans are prominently straddled either side of the main thoroughfare, which meant a constant supply of cars passing within feet of out unit - often too fast.
We didn't really feel it was relaxing as a result, and not the touring field kind of experience we were hoping for.
The tent field had a single entrance, at the far end of the central road, which due to the recent rain was turning into a bit of a mud bath. As a result, wellies seemed to be the footwear of choice for all those in tents, or alternatively cars were used for toilet runs which further impacted the traffic noise / levels.
Also, why do pedestrians have to walk on the mud around the automatic access gate. Can't this be paved or gravelled?
We won't be going back, but probably due to what we wanted rather than inadequacies in the site itself.

We spend two nights at the campsite. We were welcomed by a very nice gentleman who explain everything to us and took us to our place. The campsite was lovely, very clean and very quiet at night. The toilet block was very clean. The bus stop near the entrance allowed us to go and visit Poole and Sandbanks. The bus was on time! So many thanks. We will be back.

We have nothing but praise for this site and really enjoyed our stay here, apart from the weather!
The site facilities are second to none, it is a new block, which is kept immaculately clean, even in the worst weather conditions. Always hot water in abundance, and a nice touch is the local radio playing in the background.
Good washing-up facilities, washing machines and dryers. As keen recyclers, we felt there could be more done in the way of recycling, - there was provision made to recycle glass only.
The reception staff were very helpful and knowledgeable of the local area, including recommending good pubs. - The Rose and Crown we found very nice, and very reasonably priced. St. Peters Finger very good, but more expensive, - but with good real ale!
A good base for touring the area, and loads to see and do here. Swanage is worth a visit, as is Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. There is a good cycle ride from the site, to Poole harbour, mostly off road, but involving a short ride along a busy main road. If the weather is good, we would recommend Studland Beach to top up the tan!

The weather hadn't been very good for a few days before our arrival. Some pitches were very muddy as were parts of the rest of the grounds. Having said that, they did move us from our original booked pitch to a 'drier' one.
On-site facilities are good - indoor washing-up area, well appointed shower block with background music from the radio and a well-stocked shop.
Good access to the coastal towns. A couple of pubs within walking distance, both of which are nice but a tad pricey.
The only downsides for us were the traffic noise from both the A35 and the adjacent lanes surrounding the site and the lack of recycling facilities. At present only glass, would have been nice to see cans, paper and even plastic.

This is a lovely site with excellent clean facilities. We spent 2 weeks in our Vango900 XP with electric hook up and a tv connection point which made our first proper camping trip somewhat of a luxury. Shame about the English Weather! Site is well managed and staff are very helpful. There is a nice little shop which has the basics and Tesco Express not far or the Big Tesco at Poole has everything you could possibly ever need. The location of this campsite is superb for Bournemouth Poole and Studland beaches. The Bakers Arms Pub down the road is really good. Will go back next year.
