Fab site. We stayed during may school holidays. The site was full, but not cramped, with the very stric pitching rules enforced. The weather was fab and the staff and other campers delightful. Our 2 children (7 and 4) had the best time and made lots of friends.
The facilities were excellent. Would have loved to extended our trip but the site was full.
Would most definitely returned.

Just returned from a enjoyable weeks holiday at south lytchett manor. Encountered bad traffic jams on A31, apparently usual for this area.
Arrived at reception through impressive entrance.
Despite booking late and last minute change of arrival day, staff were very helpful and friendly as they were all week. Had level pitch which appeared to drain well even after repeated heavy rain. We found the shower blocks to be of a high standard and kept clean. As the site had vouchers for free bottle of wine with two meals at the local pub we gave it a try, nice meal but drinks pricey compared to home area pubs
Handy bus stop outside gates, ok for us bus pass holders but cost my daughter and her husband £10 return for short trip into Poole and back ,didn't do that again.Saver tickets may be better option. Plenty to see and do locally, missed fireworks display in Poole due to torrential rain. Pity about that.
Intend to return to this site ; put it on your to visit list

Just returned from a wonderful week at South Lychett Manor. Site is ideally situated for discovering the local area and hosts fantastic modern and clean facilities. Best of all are the friendly staff who go out of their way to help and are always smiling (whatever the weather). Staff are very knowledgeable of local area and keen to help you enjoy your holiday. Well worth a visit and we will definitely be returning.

We came last May and had a great time so decided to come for our main holiday this year - and we weren't disappointed. Everything was as good as we remembered it! I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this site to anyone who will listen - I have and still do! The toilet facilities are the best we have ever seen - so clean and checked regularly. This is usually a very quiet campsite. However, we had nocturnal visits from large helicopters which seemed to hover over our tent! We used the shop more this time and were pleasantly surprised that the prices weren't at all prohibitive. The local produce is very nice too. The staff are very helpful and so knowledgeable about the locality, with plenty of tourist information in the games room. They have most information readily to hand, including written directions to the nearest Tesco store. I'm glad to see that Poole District Council have finally given the site recycling facilities too. All in all a great site and we will be back!

We stayed for a week at the end of July 09. Unfortunately I wasn't as impressed as other users seem to have been.
On arrival the pitch we were allocated seemed very small and with nothing of interest to look at other than other caravans and cars. We were in amongst the long-term stayers who were obviously there for a few months, who were helpful
The facilities are undeniably excellent with great shower and wash blocks which were kept very clean and with enough quantity to avoid having to wait. Shop is useful but quite expensive, same goes for the laundry facility (it cost me £10 to wash and properly dry a load). Recycling facilities were not as good, there were bins for glass but I couldn't find any for paper/card or plastics.
Unfortunately though this is not the place to go if you fancy a quiet relaxing break, evenings were given over to the sounds of very loud television sets (why do people set them up in their awnings?) and a group of lads who drove their cars round and round the carpark of the nearby craft centre every evening once it got dark, accompanied by shouting and loud music.
There is also considerable road noise from the nearby dual carriageways, and the site staff buzzing up and down the central road on quad bikes for most of the day and evening.
Overall we found this to be a good site in terms of its proximity to local attractions, but rather soulless in terms of its actual appearance and layout

Have recently returned from an extremely enjoyable stay at South Lychett Manor. This is a very well run site. With lovely friendly helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble for them. Besides having their own small shop on site, they also very thoughtfully supply pre printed directions to the nearest supermarket(Tescos).
Besides a large range of leaflets for local attractions they also have menus for a chinese and an indian takeaway, both of which deliver to the campsite.Great for a well deserved treat for the cook.
The facilities are excellent always clean and tidy and always plenty of hot water. Plus piped music 24/7 fine for those of us who love middle of the road pop.
Besides plenty of outside play area for the young ones there is also a small games room with pool table etc for the older ones.
Even though on the weekend there were very few empty pitches we never felt it was over crowded, and never had to queue for the facilities.
All told we loved this site and will definitely revisit it.

We stayed over the bank holiday weekend at the end of May. We were slightly disappointed with our pitch when we first arrived - we were moved to the pitch next to the one we had been allocated as someone nearby wanted extra room for one of their cars! The ground was not as even as we'd hoped and we were nervous that we stuck out a bit (we only have a 3-man tent!) as there were a lot of tents and caravans on a fairly small plot but, as the week went on, we realised we were in quite a good position.
Being in the far field meant we were further away from the amenities - the shop & games room - but it also meant there was not quite as much 'traffic' and we were nearer a fabulous toilet block. I can't remember the last time I went to a campsite with such fantastic showers (I wish mine at home was as good!) AND you didn't have to pay for them! And I can safely say I have never stayed at a site with fresh flowers in the toilet block - it was such a nice touch.
The on-site shop was very well stocked and it was great to discover the local cafe (a short walk across a field) which served pretty decent fried breakfasts! Using the voucher we were given when we checked in, we ate at the St Peter's Finger pub - a short walk from the site - and had a really enjoyable meal; it was good to have at least two decent pubs within walking distance.
However, the real selling point for this site has got to be the staff. I have never experienced customer service like it. The staff were friendly and courteous at every stage of our stay, until we had a problem. And then they raised their game and absolutely blew us away! We managed to lock the keys in the boot of the car (it's a BMW and built like a tank!) and not even the RAC could get in. The team at South Lytchett Manor pulled out all the stops and came up with idea after idea as to how to help us out of our predicament. It is safe to say that, without their help, there is no way we would have got the spare keys half as quickly or inexpensively as we did - nor would we have made our reservation at the pub that night!
It may not be the cheapest site around but you really do get what you pay for and I would have no qualms at all in recommending this site to anyone. A huge thank you to Dave and the rest of the team!

We arrived on this site on the 8th July, it was quite busy and we were told that come the weekend they would be full.
This is quite a large site but so well run. On arrival you are shown to your pitch and given an information leaflet which even mentions local bus services that stop directly outside the site.
The reception is well run with staff full of information. The shop sells locally sourced bits and pieces such as sausages from local area, small amount of veg and cakes and bread to name but a few. They also stocked a few toys and usual bits of camping equipment.
There is a small play area and a huge field where kiddies can play ball games.
A very short walk across a field there is a courtyard with a cafe that opens for breakfast and then through until about five o’clock. The courtyard also has about six other little craft type shops. A little further walk away is a local pub which did meals.
There are 3 amenity blocks the main one in the centre has about 6 showers and the same number of toilets and 2 hairdryers which are free and absolutely immaculate. Hubby said that the men’s are to the same standard. There is a disabled toilet launderette and dishwasher area with 3 sinks and chemical loo disposal point at the main amenity block. There is a smaller block at far end with 3 toilets and 2 showers in the ladies with similar in the gents which is what we used as we where pitched at the end again these where absolutely spotless. This block also had two washing sinks and chemical loo disposal point. There is a third amenity block at the opposite end to the same standard as the second smaller block.
We really liked this site that although was very busy especially on the Friday night was peaceful and we never has to wait for showers or toilets. We would definitely use this site again if we visited the area

We visited this site last summer for 9 nights at the end of July, and had a fabulous time. The site isn't huge, just a nice size. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful, and the facilities on site are brilliant.
The toilets, showers and washing up facilities are always spotlessly clean and welcoming. The toilet and shower facilities are excellent, by far the best we've seen at any site.
The site is quite flat and safe, so our children had a great time riding their bikes. The play area is good, although I would say that there is not a lot for older children (10+) to do. The play area could also do with some seating for parents who want to sit and watch their little ones play. The shop on site is well stocked and has a good selection of basics. There is a cafe and craft centre a 5 minute walk away, which made for a nice visit. The local pub serves lovely food.
Nearby attractions are plentiful! We visited Monkey World, Farmer Palmers farm, Corfe Castle, Studley beach, The Tank Museum, Poole, Weymouth, and Brownsea Island. All were great, and we had a lovely time.
We will definitely be returning here, my children have been asking to go back after having such a memorable holiday.

Just returned from a great weeks holiday at this site. The site is in a great location with loads to do in the area and the staff are the friendliest and most helpful I've seen at any of the sites we've been to so far. Overall a highly recommended site.
Pros: Great location, clean toilets and showers with individual rooms with sinks for teeth cleaning / washing as well as great family rooms with baby baths etc, friendly very helpful staff, play park, taps / bins / toilets etc. all short distance wherever you are located
Cons: Lots of tents in a small area (I was worried about our guys being clipped by cars as we have a large tent and were opposite another leaving a smaller than ideal gap for cars to pass through), caravans were all along one road so if you get situated near the entrance you will have every car entering the site going past you, shop seemed small for so many pitches
All in all worth a visit but I wouldn't want to pay their peak prices
