We spent 3 nights camping in our tent on this campsite, this was only our second attempt camping ( the first time our tent blew down in gale force winds!). We arrived at about 4 and we were directed to our pitch which was huge.
The shower blocks were very clean with fresh flowers! I cannot praise these facilities highly enough.
The campsite is perfectly positioned for Poole, Swanage, durdle door and many more places. The staff at he campsite were very friendly as we're the people.
This is a great family site, everyone was quiet by about 10pm.
I will definitely come back again, thank you for making my second camping trip such a huge success.

The site was very very busy when we arrived - the staff were feeling the strain of this. But we were treated really well. This site needs to develop a policy for pub tents as we were told we could not use ours but other pitches clearly had erected theirs. Toilet block was very clean and the shop had most basics.
We used the vouchers given to us to eat at the local pub - which was good.
Pitches were clearly laid out and the staff took time to explain the pitch to us.
The site is handy for Poole, Monkey world and other attractions.
The WIFI went down well with the IT users in our group.
We loved the Dog walking facilities.

Just returned from a five day break. We had a fabulous time and was really impressed with everything. The site was extremely well maintained and the toilet shower block perfect size for such a big site. The location was perfect for us as we towed our boat down and moored it in poole marina. Anyone else wanted to do something similar, this site is perfect. WE hope to do exactly the same next year. Thank you

Well laid site. Good facilities. Large very clean dog walking area. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Used the voucher given when we checked in for the pub - st peters finger.
We walked to wareham one day and into Poole the next day. Though there is a bus stops just outside the campsite. The site is very well maintained.
The shower blocks are very clean. And the pitches are quite large. We went the first weekend of the school holidays so the stay was in premium peak time.
But still though the site was good value for the standard of site.

Quite simply the best site I have ever camped on! We have just got back from 5 nights at the site and cannot praise it enough. The pitch size was large and the amenity blocks modern, clean and warm.
The showers were powerful and well designed and the professional style hairdriers much appreciated. The staff were very helpful and prepared to go the extra mile.
When I asked for directions to the local Tesco I was given neatly printed directions, previously prepared.
The site is set near to a very small village where there is no shop. There is a small shop, however, on the site which sells the essentials. It is even possible to have a morning paper delivered!
The pitches must be well drained as although we had lovely weather, the wettest July on record preceded our visit and yet there was no mud.
The campsite overall is superbly maintained - grass cut almost daily, fresh flowers in the toilet block and pots of flowers and hanging baskets all over the site.
It is quite costly but then again, you get what you pay for. I don't begrudge the money as it was clear how it was spent. A fabulous site and I hope to stay there again.

Stayed early August lucky enough to have decent weather though not cracking the pavements that one would expect in August.
Site is very well placed for all that Dorset has to offer, being only 5 miles from Poole is an advantage.
Facilities are good, lots of water points though they are very close to other pitched units ( you feel as though you are intruding when using them.
Main road through the site with some hard standing pitches each side is busy and people do not adhere to the 5mph limit (PLEASE Note Wardens)
There is some road noise from the bypass which is heard from the top of the site.
Wardens are very helpful - toilet / shower blocks are clean. In all quite a nice site and one I would use again Also as mentioned the local pub has an offer on with the site for free wine / beer / cider with each two meals purchased

Just arrived home from our first trip to wonderful Dorset.
Site is very well placed for all that Dorset has to offer,
The site is situated perfectly, approximately 3. 5 miles north of Poole just off the A35, which gives you great accessibility to all surrounding towns and villages ie Poole, Bournemouth, Wimbourne, Swanage, Wareham, Corfe Castle, Luthworth Cove, Durdles Door to name a few.
Shower blocks are good and always clean, lots of water points though they are very close to other pitched units. Staff all very friendly.
The lead free dog walk is second to none.
However my 10 night stay at South Lychett Manor was spoilt because pitch allocation seems to be some what of a lottery.
We were told over the phone when making our booking that the pitch (number 32) which we had been allocated, would accommodate an awning but would have to be half on hardstanding and half on the grass, which was no problem to us. However what wasn't explained to us was that we would have nowhere to park our car and nowhere to sit out. So opted for the porch awning and squeezed the car on. The pitch was also next to a busy entrance onto the next camping area. So we had a consent stream of site traffic and congregating children.
There are some lovely well situated, large pitches but some very bad ones, all for the same price.
Would we take a chance again, regrettably no.

Well located for visiting places of interest, the bus right outside the gates is a perfect way of getting about, especially if you have a bus pass.
Staff very helpful and pleasant and the shop will get you out of trouble.
If you want to walk to the local pub across the field the map does not show very clearly that the entrance to the dog walking area that leads to it is marked by a tree. Walk to the back of the field and look for a large tree, the gate is by the tree.
Hardstanding pitch had hook-up and it's own water tap which was handy.
It was our own fault, we should not have stayed here in the school holidays, we did not dream it would have been so full and busy. If you have children it would be great, if you don't I would leave it until the children are in school.
Most pitches are along the main road through, which was very busy with cars and vans coming and going, but was used as a race track for children as young as about 5 to tear up and down as fast as they could go all day. If you are unlucky to be by the children's playground that starts up about 8am.
Did not use the toilet/shower facilities as they were always full in the morning when we needed them and to be honest they were not the standard we were expecting.
For what we paid (£30 a night)we felt only the location saved the day.

My first time camping and I think I hit the spot when it came to choosing the campsite. South Lytchett Manor is fully facilitated, it felt like I didn't need to take much with me, everything was so close to my tent slot that it felt so comfortable, the whole experience was great!
I even managed to convince my husband, who hates camping, to go back there this summer with our six year old, because he won't be able to say that he is going to have a bad time as the campsite offers everything you need to have a brilliant time, even sinks to prepare your food and wash up!
I suggest you read their welcome pack when you arrive, as I realised they had microwave, freezers and food to take away on my last day there, so take this tip.
The only criticism is that they say Poole beach is 3miles away from there, but it isn't, is about 5miles, but nevertheless close enough as you are going to be driving anyway. Bournemouth about 25min, but always make sure you take change with you to pay for car park, not many take notes.
Huge Asda in Poole, so whatever you need, you find it there.
They have a pond full of ducks, the children can feed them, bikes for hire, all sorts!
The most friendly people you will meet, they are so helpful. The 'neighbours' were also very nice people, and not much noise, even with dogs and lots of children, very respectful place.
I advise any family to go there, even if you are not 'camping mad' it will be a fantastic first experience

We haven't written a review before, but as we used the views expressed before booking our holiday we thought we ought to provide our thoughts.
We stayed at South Lytchett for the first week of the summer holidays. We camped with another family and we have to say that the site is fab. Facilities clean and first class, staff very helpful and friendly and as we were missing our black Labrador it was nice to say hello to Penny!
Site is well located to Poole and the surrounding area. We managed to fit in Weymouth, Charmouth, Bournemouth, Lyme Regis (particular favourite for us adults), Lulworth Cove, Durdle Dor, Beaulieu and the New Forest Show!
We were pitched by the children's play area. To be fair, we had been advised that we were backing on to the play area at the time of booking.
When we turned up to pitch we were concerned to note that the only thing that separated us from the play area was a waist high picket fence (we had thought from the pictures that there was a high laurel hedge) and one of the entrances to the park was on the boundary line of our plot.
Having said this once we had settled in and put a windbreak in to protect our guy lines by the access route it was handy to be there as it meant our youngest could play in the playground and we could watch from our tent.
We do think that if we returned we would make sure we were not immediately adjacent to the play area. This is not at all a criticism of the site as we had such a good time and would not hesitate to return, just thought we would pass comment.
